ABOUT EXODUS

Exodus Magazine is an Urban Christian Magazine designed to give youth/young adults, ages 15-25 a Christian alternative that will be on their level. This is our way of giving the word of God to the youth/young adults in a way that will successfully reach them. Exodus Magazine was founded in June 2007 by Joel Maldonado, and Rochelle Moyd. Just as God called Moses to bring the Israelites out of bondage & into the promise land, We believe that God has called us to help bring youth and young adults out of the bondage of this world and into the promise land, that being, Life more abundantly.

Exodus Magazine is a quality publication printed on high gloss 80lbs text paper with a 80lbs gloss cover.

Cover Story: Spotlights a person(s) who is/are making a difference in the community, music world, and is serious about spreading the word of God to other youth.

Story-2-Tell: Draws attention to people who have been through hell and back; it will share testimony about how Jesus manifested his glory in someone’s life and brought them out of a difficult situation and gave them victory

Da Message: Covers a variety of topics that will give biblical guidance on how to grow as Christians, and deal with everyday life. This section addresses issues that youth face from day to day. For example drug and alcohol abuse, violence, etc. It includes biblical guidance that can help the youth deal with these issues spiritually.

Da Movement: Highlights specific youth groups/organizations and what they are doing to help build their community, or change the lives of other youth.

Fashion & Faith: Emphasizes fashion through different styles and give tips on how to glorify God through your clothing. It will highlight/introduce Christian clothing companies/manufacturers

Young & Successful: Spotlights young entrepreneurs.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring the gospel to the streets, and in return bring the streets to the gospel. We want to meet the youth/young adults where they are, uproot them and lead them on a journey from death to life. Our ultimate goal is to help raise successful, spiritually mature youth by encouraging them to meditate on things that are positive, uplifting, and respectful, as well as, entertaining.

Our Name

The word Exodus is defined as a journey of a large group to escape out of a hostile environment.

The book of Exodus narrates the journey of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt into the promise land. Just as God called Moses, we believe He called us to lead the youth/young adults of this world, “the Chosen Generation” out of spiritual death and into the promise land, which is life and that more abundantly.

Our Scripture

Exodus 3:17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto… a land flowing with milk and honey.

This scripture defines our motives and our vision, to use our magazine to show the readers how Jesus manifests his glory to bring people out of spiritual bondage and into an abundant life.
