Exodus Magazine selects articles that will appeal to an urban youth/young adults audience. These articles must be uplifting, informative and relevant to urban youth/young adults. The tone and content of every story must reflect a Christian viewpoint. We believe that every youth’s life is a gift from God and that a personal relationship with Him will provide them with meaning, purpose and significance.
Our targeted audience is youth/young adults between the ages of 15-25, are moderately to highly computer literate, and most likely a minority.
Exodus Magazine is part of a non-profit organization and as such cannot offer compensation for articles. We are seeking One Time Rights. All copyrights remains with the author. Any reprint requests we receive will be directed to the author if a contact address has been provided for this purpose.
Specifics
All accepted articles will be accompanied by the byline and the biography specified by the author. Author bios should be one to three lines of type (approximately 50 words). A contact email and/or URL will be included if provided and deemed appropriate. Exodus Magazine reserves the right to refuse URLs that link to sites that conflict with the mandate of the magazine.
Departments
Articles for the different departments should range 1000-1200 words (approx). We are seeking Non-Fiction Journalistic articles. Assignments are occasionally given to writers we have worked with previously. If you wish to be considered for further assignments, please indicate this in your submission.
Focuses on a variety of topics that will give biblical principles on how to grow as Christians. This section addresses issues that today’s youth face day to day. It includes biblical guidance that can help the youth deal with these issues spiritually. We are currently accepting articles on these topics: Self-Esteem, Sex & Abstinence, Defending Your Faith, Friends & Family, Faith & Values, Witness & Missions, Gangs & Violence, Drug & Alcohol abuse, etc.
Focuses on different youth groups, or youth geared organizations that are doing something to help build their community, or change the lives of other youth. We are currently looking for submissions.
This section will draw attention to people who have been through hell and back; it will share testimony about how Jesus manifested his glory in someone’s life and brought them out of a difficult situation and gave them victory. We are always looking for people to share their testimony.
This section will spotlight young entrepreneurs. We are currently accepting submissions for young business owners, authors, artists, etc.
Shout!
This section will give the youth an opportunity to express themselves through poetry, spoken word, or art. We are always looking for submissions for this department.

On the Grind:
This section focuses on up & coming Gospel artists on the grind to make it in the industry. We are currently looking for submissions. Please include bio, record label (if applicable), booking, and CD info.
This section will focus on four gospel artists who have albums, scheduled for release or recently released. The albums will be reviewed and rated by a panel of youth.

This section will emphasize fashion through different styles and give tips on how to glorify God through your clothing. It will highlight Christian clothing manufacturers.
Clothing lines/companies/manufacturers interested in advertising their line/clothing please email company information, URL (website) and photos of the pieces you want to showcase. We are interested in submissions for: Clothing, shoes, handbags, scarves, jewelry etc.
Models/Hairstylists/Make-up Artists/Wardrobe Stylists
Models, Hairstylists, MUA’s, and Wardrobe Stylists interested follow submission guidelines listed below
Email submissions: Please email contact information, URL (if applicable) and 3-5 photos of your work (for models 1headshot, 2 full body shots). All photos need to clear and in good quality, along with your resume.
Submissions by Mail: Mail 3-5 photos 8x10(s) of your work. All photos must be clear and in good quality. Exodus will not return any of your photographs so be sure to send a copy. Include resume, models include comp card (if applicable). Send to:

Model Requirements:
Models must be between the ages of 15-25 and at least 5’6 or taller. (Let me remind you that this is a Christian Magazine).
